Congratulations to Monica Campbell and Denise
Courtney for
going to VA Beach and competing in the State FCCLA Star Events
Competition. The girls did a Focus on
Children project and collected books for preschool aged children in the
community. They then made a display and
a speech and competed against 13 other schools in their category. They had a weekend filled with workshops and
other FCCLA events. The girls will now
be going to Orlando, Florida in July to compete on the national level. Good luck and congratulations!

to the efforts of Holtzman Oil Corp. and Bob and Neeta Parikh of
Quickstop at Luray, Luray Middle School has been awarded a $500
ExxonMobil Educational Alliance grant for Math and Science programs.
The money will be used to purchase materials and supplies. The
ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program is designed to provide Exxon
retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their
communities through educational grants to neighborhood schools.
